| Places to See
http://www.playa.info/playa-del-carmen-info-activities-and-daytrips.html Right outside of the resorts, there will be plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops for you to check out. All of these places are walking distance. These are tourist friendly areas, and you will find other similar tourists/guests walking around. The resort should have car rental options available, but I DO NOT recommend renting a car due to the legal system. It is not in favor of international travelers. If you do choose to rent a car, be sure the rental company is a legitimate business. Purchase the highest insurance coverage possible, and write down the business/worker's contact info in case of emergency. Also, have the resort's information with you at all times in case you are lost. When you refuel at a gas station (most are full serve), pay in cash because there are stories of tourists' credit cards being stolen or the workers do not understand English so they use that to their advantage to swindle you. Remember to utilize the resort's front or info desk for additional information on how and where to go. Their local expertise will be beneficial to your travel experience. In case of medical emergency, report to the resort's front desk immediately. If necessary, there are a few local hospitals nearby and one of them is Hospiten. English is widely spoken and tourists generally use this hospital. http://www.yelp.com/biz/hospiten-playa-del-carmen |
